The Royal Navy has reported that a British ship patrolling Caribbean waters has made a 180 Million pound or US$ 350 million Drug haul

The Navy said the ship intercepted the Venezuelan-registered fishing boat, Oliana One, 620 nautical miles north-east of Barbados and found 2.9 tonnes of cocaine.
The officials said the 65-foot boat was tracked down by the ship’s helicopter and after its pilot ignored radio calls.
The fishing boat was boarded by a United States Coast Guard detachment which was travelling as part of the crew on the Wave Ruler.
They said the crew claimed they were on a fishing expedition, but on checking the vessel the cocaine was found in the hold.
The crew members were detained before being handed over to Venezuelan authorities.

Carmel - Carmel police say two major drug dealers are now behind bars after police found hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of drugs in their home.

Between the wreath on the door and the welcome mat, this Carmel home, north of 96th Street off Westfield Blvd., appears picture perfect.

But once you’ve seen the police photos taken inside the apartment the picture perfect illusion fades. Hamilton County Police say the photos of 300 thousand dollars worth of cocaine and marijuana are the end result of a tip to the Indianapolis Police Department.

Major Randy Schalburg is with the Hamilton County Drug Task Force. He explained what happened. “They received info from an out of state narcotics agency, stating there was a large source of cocaine and marijuana living in Hamilton County just inside Carmel.”

In addition to cocaine, police found 202 pounds of marijuana inside 9756 San Marco Pass, the shared apartment of 24-year-old Librado Plata and 23-year-old Sheila Varo.

Major Schalburg continued, “While doing the surveillance officers observed Plata and Varo exit the apartment carrying a white and red bag.”

Police say the couple then drove to the 5500 block of East 82nd Street and delivered that same shopping bag to a confidential source. That’s when police made their arrest.

Inside the bag, police found one kilo of cocaine.

“We believe it’s going to be a real large scale arrest especially impacting people out of state,” said Major Schalburg.

The Carmel apartment is not expected to be occupied anytime soon. Police say Librado is an illegal alien and has a $500,000 bail. Varo’s status is still being determined.

ELKINS – One person is behind bars and another is free on bail after two drug busts in the city.

One bust was at a home, while the other happened during a traffic stop. The busts came just hours apart Tuesday night.

Officers collected cocaine, crack, hundreds of pills, pill bottles, $11,000 and a small caliber pistol at Christine White’s home, State Police said.

White was arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute. She is currently in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.

Trooper First Class C.A. Blevins said it is not unusual to find large amounts of cash in busts like these.

Because a gun was confiscated, White could be facing additional federal charges.

Just hours before that bust, troopers on a routine traffic stop said they found four pounds of marijuana in a car that belongs to Daniel Corica.

Blevins said two big busts in one night will make a big dent in the drug problem in Randolph County.

Corica is free on bail. White is still in jail. Her bond was set at $100,000.

Frank Agnello, one of the featured stars of “Growing Up Gotti,” wasn’t ready for this closeup.

Unflattering mug shots of Agnello, taken just hours after the late Dapper Don’s grandson was caught with a “large personal stash” of pot and pills in his car, reveal a sourpuss grimace and a bowl-cut hairdo instead of his familiar gelled locks.

The 16-year-old, the youngest son of the late Mafia boss’ daughter Victoria Gotti, was busted Nov. 10 after blowing through a stop sign in Dix Hills, L.I., cops said yesterday. Two other pals were also arrested.

Cops say they caught a whiff of pot in the 2006 Chrysler Pacifica.

“The officer smelled marijuana in the car” which led him to the “large personal stash” of pot, said Suffolk County Police Lt. Donato Mignone.

Police also found powerful painkillers: OxyContin and morphine pills, Mignone said. OxyContin was the painkiller that got right-wing radio host Rush Limbaugh in trouble.

Victoria Gotti posted $200 bail to get her son out of jail. He faces up to a year in prison if convicted on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance and marijuana - both misdemeanors.

“He was not found with any drugs on his person” and will plead not guilty at a Jan. 24 hearing in Central Islip, said lawyer Adam Mandelbaum of West Oyster Bay. “The rest of the matter is under investigation.”

Frank Agnello, his mom and brothers Carmine and John starred in the short-lived A&E reality series.

Gang takes out ad claiming they are vigilantes

-from cnn.com-

MEXICO CITY (AP) — A violent Mexican drug gang has taken out a half-page ad in newspapers in which they claim to be anti-crime vigilantes who want to put an end to kidnapping, robbery and the sale of methamphetamine in the western state of Michoacan.

The Family, a shadowy group believed to be allied to Mexico’s Gulf drug cartel, has claimed responsibility in the past for bloody killings, such as a September 6 attack in which gunmen dumped five severed human heads into a bar in the Michoacan city of Uruapan.

Those and other heads discovered since have been accompanied by hand-lettered, poorly spelled notes, but this is apparently the first time the group has taken out newspaper ads.

The newspaper El Sol of Morelia, 135 miles west of Mexico City, confirmed that the half-page ad ran in Wednesday’s editions.

“Our only reason for being is that we love our state, and we are not willing to allow the dignity of our people to be trampled on,” reads the ad, signed “Sincerely, The Michoacan Family.”

“This organization was formed with the firm intention of fighting the uncontrolled crime in our state,” it reads, claiming the group is “growing, and now covers the whole state.”

The ad blames the violence and crime in largely rural Michoacan on “the Milenio cartel, and some people named Valencia, and some gangs like the ‘30 Gang,’ who have terrorized much of the state since the 1980s up to the present day.”

The Family appears to be fighting the Milenio Cartel — which in turn is believed to be allied with the Sinaloa Cartel — for control of drug trafficking routes in Michoacan.

But the Family’s advertisement says the group opposes the sale of “ice,” or methamphetamine, “because it is one of the worst drugs doing irreversible damage to our society.”

Local media reports said thousands of leaflets were left in Morelia with the group’s message.

The ad seems to acknowledge that the gang’s brutal tactics have alienated many people.

“Perhaps at this time people don’t understand us, but we know that in the most affected regions, they understand our actions,” it reads, adding, “[P]eople who work at any decent activity have no reason to worry.”

Another Morelia newspaper, La Voz de Michoacan, confirmed it ran a similar ad from the group.

It’s not the first time that the group has used strange rhetoric to depict itself as the good guys. The sign left with the five severed heads on September 6 read, “The family doesn’t kill for money. It doesn’t kill women. It doesn’t kill innocent people, only those who deserve to die.”

The area is frequently used by drug traffickers, and dozens of suspected traffickers and Michoacan police officers have been killed in recent months amid gang turf battles. The battles involve leadership struggles within and among gangs after authorities captured some of their leaders.
