An RCMP crackdown on drug trafficking and organized crime has resulted in charges against 18 people.Eight arrests were made in Edmonton, three in Calgary, one in Vancouver and one in Paradise, Newfoundland and Labrador.

Officers seized more than two million dollars in alleged proceeds of crime, including cash, cars, motorcycles, jewelry and homes.

The Mounties say more than 100 officers from at least six police forces worked together on the two-year investigation.
