Meth bust made at Shepherdsville Hotel

(SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky.) – One man is facing charges after a morning meth bust in Bullitt County leads to a temporary hotel evacuation.

It happened around 6:30 a.m. at the Motel 6, 144 Paraquet Springs, in Shepherdsville. According to Kenny Hardin, Director of the Bullitt County Drug Task Force, police were called to the scene after a second floor fire alarm went off.

All 45 rooms in the motel had to be evacuated, leaving more than 100 people outside their rooms for at least 2 hours.

The fire was found in a second floor room and extinguished itself according to Hardin.

One person is being treated for burns and one man is under arrest. 25-year-old William Sutherland is facing multiple counts of wanton endangerment, one count of arson and one count of manufacturing meth.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
