BURNABY (NEWS1130) - Four kilograms of cocaine are now off the street, and eight people have been arrested after RCMP raids this week on homes in Burnaby and Richmond. Corporal Jane Batista says the cocaine trafficking ring was spreading around Greater Vancouver.

Batista says one of the men charged has already been deported back to China, and more deportations could be on the way. Mounties also say the bust helped them established links between the suspects and organized crime groups. The cocaine seized amounted to over 160,000 doses on the street.

Police say they seized $17,000 in cash, plus three vehicles. They allege the group was very organized and efficient at drug trafficking, working day and night to make significant profits.
