2 face several charges after Drug Bust

UTICA – Two city residents face drug charges after the Oneida County Task Force recently concluded a three-week investigation into the possession, sale and distribution of marijuana and cocaine, said Lt. Nicholas LoConte. Police executed a no-knock search warrant at the second floor apartment of 522 Milgate St., LoConte said, and they seized 31 individual bags of marijuana, one-half ounce of cocaine, $895 in cash, packaging materials and a bottle of Inositol powder, which is used as a cutting agent. Lydia Geigel, 25, and Jamal Cochran, 28, were charged with third-degree possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree possession of a controlled substance, seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, and two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia, LoConte said. A parole warrant was also lodged against Cochran, who is currently on parole, LoConte said.
